Will speak at Saturday’s rally sponsored by NAACP and Pan Hellenic Council
ST. LOUIS, MO – This Saturday, Alderman Kacie Starr Triplett (Ward 6) will partner with local activists and entertainers at the “Protect the Vote Unity Rally”. A staunch supporter of voters’ rights, Triplett will speak to the crowd at 3:00 p.m. regarding ways they can bring about change in their communities.
“The act of voting is inspiring, empowering and critical to making a difference,” Triplett said. “I’m proud to work with the NAACP and other local groups to ensure our voices are heard. This year’s elections can bring real, lasting change to our communities and Saturday’s rally marks an important step in that journey.”
The afternoon rally, to be held at the Omega Center, is intended to protect and promote St. Louis’ minority communities and voters. Voter registration booths will be on-site to enroll and update the information of local citizens. St. Louis rap artist, Legion Lucciano, and a local girls’ singing group are scheduled to perform.
Triplett has long been an advocate for the rights of local voters and served as a delegate for President Obama in 2008. She currently represents part of downtown St. Louis and several south St. Louis neighborhoods.
