This past Friday, the J.U.I.C.E project founders Dr. Angie Beatty and Shawn McKie were presented with a Resolution recognizing their achievements and creation of the J.U.I.C.E project.
Located in the 6th Ward at the corner of Arsenal & Gravois, the J.U.I.C.E. project is a 2009 awardee of the Echoing Green Fellowship. Designed to combat disease mortality in our city by reimagining the concept of our neighborhood corner stores. The J.U.I.C.E. project hopes to assist local corner stores to serve as one-stop shops for nutritious and affordable food centers. No more corner shops for fast food chips and high salty foods and fatty snacks. The JUICE project seeks to promote free exercise training activities, media health literacy education, and art programs for our area youth.
The J.U.I.C.E box serves as an extraordinary asset to our neighborhood. I am proud to have the passion and enthusiasm exhibited by both Shawn and Angie in the community.
