Triplett Receives Cityscape Award for Work with Lucas Park

On Tuesday, Alderman Kacie Starr Triplett (D-6 Ward) and the City of Saint Louis were recognized by the Partnership for Downtown St. Louis for their efforts to improve Lucas Park.  The private, not-for-profit organization awarded them one of their 2009 Cityscape Awards, which recognize projects that enhance the street level setting of the downtown area.

“I’m honored to be recognized for my work with the city’s downtown area,” Triplett said.  “Lucas Park is a vibrant and vital part of Saint Louis.  For years, it suffered from disrepair and neglect.  But now, with over $100,000 in capital improvements, this jewel of downtown is being restored to its proper splendor.”

Triplett is alderman of the 6th Ward in St. Louis, which includes portions of downtown including the Lucas Park area.  She currently serves as the youngest elected official in the city of St. Louis, and represents part of downtown St. Louis and several south St. Louis neighborhoods.
