Yesterday, my campaign manager was notified by a reporter that there was a 6th Ward executive committee meeting scheduled for Monday, December 18th. This is strange for two reasons. First, there was no scheduled meeting. Second, I sit on the board and was never notified.
It appears there is an attempt underway to remove over 100 members from our organization. Unfortunately, it is no coincidence that a vast majority of these members are African-American. This is an attempt by the current committeman, Mr. Cacchione, to change the rules at the last minute and guarantee the endorsement for himself.
I will stand and fight at the meeting to keep our organization fair, open and democratic. The meeting will be held tomorrow at 5:30pm at Pestalozzi Place.
