Today, several residents from the Lafayette Square and Clinton-Peabody neighborhoods gathered today to promote peace and demonstrate neighborhood unity. The “Day of Peace” was the response to recent criminal activity taking place in both neighborhoods and within the surrounding community.

It will take more than marches and carrying signs proclaiming peace to make a real difference. Today was just the start. I am excited with the new leadership of both Lafayette Square and Clinton Peabody neighborhoods who are willing and ready to work together, to tackle some of the issues permeating both neighborhoods. Stay tuned as these two neighborhoods, and other neighborhoods throughout the 6th Ward, work to promote peace, and unity to strengthen our great City.
