Healthcare Supporters to Rally this Saturday
Organizing for America to Host Event in 6th Ward’s Reservoir Park
(ST. LOUIS) – This Saturday, healthcare reform advocates will gather at Reservoir Park to rally for their cause. Alderman Kacie Starr Triplett (6th Ward) and other leaders will speak to the crowd at the event, which is sponsored by Organizing for America – a group spun out of President Barack Obama’s grassroots campaign from last year. They’ll then lead a canvass to educate local residents about the importance of health care reform.
“It’s time to bring real change to our country’s broken healthcare system,” said Triplett. “This weekend’s rally and canvass is another step toward making the system work for everyone and ensuring everyone has access to the cures and care they need.”
The location of this weekend’s rally is especially fitting – the 6th Ward, home of Reservoir Park, cast more votes for President Obama than any other ward in Saint Louis. Triplett, who has served as the 6th Ward’s alderman since 2007, was an early supporter of Obama’s campaign and served as his local spokesperson.
